...History a Stitch at a Time - Following the Quilt Trail...
In cooperation with the Appalachian Resource Conservation and Development Council, Positive Solutions is offering the first of a series of "Quilt Sampler" Tours, which will be open to the public.
Northeast Tennessee's rich history and heritage fits together like the pieces of a quilt and is brought to life as you follow the Quilt Trail.
On October 18, a private motorcoach will depart the Historic Jonesborough Visitors Center at 9:00 a.m. for this special, personally guided half-day tour. Sit back and enjoy the scenery as your tour guide shares the history and stories of our beautiful region. You will meet the barn owners and listen to unique stories about their family's heritage, shop for local items such as honey, jams and hand-made quilts at St. John's Mill, site of the Little Dutch Boy and Girl, and visit the Knob Creek Historic Museum and enjoy an extensive collection of historic memorabilia on loan from families all over Washington County. You will receive discount coupons from Jonesborough Merchants, including a 15% discount from Tennessee Quilts for this special inaugural tour.*

Tapirs, gators, red pandas, sloths, painted turtles, shovel-tusked elephants, rhinos, camels, bears and more...
In cooperation with the ETSU Museum of Natural History and the Gray TN Fossil Site, we have created a unique tour..."No Bones About It"...to introduce visitors to the only Miocene Epoch site in this part of the country. The 4.5 million to 7 million years old dig was first discovered by road crews in 2000. It has evolved into a 33,000 square foot Visitors' Center which houses a multi-media classroom, permanent and temporary exhibit halls, snack bar, and gift shop. Stroll through the exhibits where you can learn about the earth and its inhabitants first-hand, or participate in our extended tour where you can "get down and get dirty" while working alongside some of the paleontologists who can answer your questions.

Your guide will share the legends, stories and unusual happenings of Jonesborough's past and present on this ghostly tour. Some have called this a ghost walk, others a sharing of mysteries, decide for yourself. It is exciting and titillating and most important, it's good old fashion fun.
The stories will be a little different on each tour because the oldest town in Tennessee has far too many stories to share on just one dark evening. Legends, Whispers and Mysteries is a tasteful blend of stories and legends handed down from family to family and hearth to hearth.
